This was the first online video I did related to my book. Putting this story out into the world was scary, but a huge step in the healing process.
What is kept in the dark stays in the dark and haunts us from within. Once you bring your inner stories into the light you can heal. There is no shame in the stories of our lives. Everything that happens is part of a journey that allows us to become who we are meant to be. We have the choice to embrace reality or hide from it or numb it.
The four things that were most powerful in transforming my life were: acceptance, forgiveness, gratitude, and love. Acceptance is the first step in transforming your life. Accept who you are, where you are, where you have been, and that perhaps you want a different experience in life going forward. Forgiving yourself and others is the next step in moving forward. Forgiveness releases you from suffering. I needed to forgive over and over for the same things sometimes, and that’s ok. Next, practice gratitude for the good things that remain even in our darkest hour. Gratitude moves us forward in a positive way and raises our vibration. Finally, the greatest of all transformative forces is love. Love yourself. Be kind and gentle to yourself. Treat yourself kind in action and in the words you speak to yourself.
Regardless of where you have been, what you have done, or how you have been treated, you can take control of your life experience and live the life you have always dreamed of. Be brave. Speak your truth. We all have more in common than we realize.
